A Benue guber aspirant for 2023 general elections, Dr Moses Tule has sued for the endorsement of the Jechira Youth Forum, Makurdi chapter to enable him actualize the governorship ambition to create jobs.
Dr Tule who hails from the Jerchira geo-political entity in the state, made the appeal at his residence in Makurdi, when leaders of the forum visited him.
Though the guber aspirant did not disclose the political party platform under which he intended to contest, he promised special intervention programmes that would boost job creation and support the entrepreneurial drive of the youths if given the mandate.
Dr Tule said, “I’m contesting on the basis of merit, that is my own platform. I’m telling Benue people that, I am competent to do the job, I am an experienced technocrat, a detribalised and fair-minded Benue citizen who is set to give the dividends of democracy. So consider me on my own merit and vote for your future. Political base is not a very important factor yet, what is more important is the personal abilities of an individual to perform.
“We are blessed as a state with a lot of resources. We have hills and agricultural products that can attract tourists and investors but since this is not fully utilized, we keep travelling to other places for pleasure and investment. Today, I’m telling you as Jechira and Benue youths at large that, the destiny of this state is in your hands. You form the bulk of the population of this state and you have got licence in your hands to determine your future which is your voter’s card”.
He charged the youths to have unity of purpose and to represent the good values which they are known for.
According to him, it was the turn of the Jechira extraction to steer the Benue ship come 2023. He stressed that, only by unity and togetherness that the project can see the light of the day.
In their separate remarks, the leader of the Forum, Ternenge Iortim, deputy leader, Peter Adoo and Publicity Secretary, Eric Iortyer, all expressed pleasure with his aspirations and described him as an achiever.
They said Benue people were actually in need of leaders like him to address the pressing issues in the state and resolved to work as one indivisible family in support of his ambition.
