Gunmen kidnap council boss, driver, kill policeman in Nasarawa

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped the Chairman of Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Muhammad Shehu, alongside his driver to an unknown destination.

The Voice learnt that the incident occurred at about Friday night when the chairman was coming from a programme organised by the Keffi Old Boys Association (KOBA) at the Government College, Keffi, alongside his police orderly and driver.

The Voice also learnt that the chairman’s police orderly, who made efforts to repel the attack unfortunately lost his life.

Confirming the incident via a telephone conversation on Saturday, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Adesina Soyemi, said police personnel have been deployed to the  location of the attack, in order to rescue the victims and arrest the kidnappers.

“Police operatives are now in the area where they were kidnapped. We have taken over the environment.

“I can assure you that they would soon be rescued and the perpetrators of the act would not escape the wrath of the law,” CP Soyemi said.
