Unknown gunmen Wednesday night attacked Tse-Agbungu community in Yonov council ward of Logo local Government Area of Benue state and killed one person, injuring several others.

The Voice leant that one of the victims who sustained serious injury later died in the hospital.

Confirming the ugly incident in a statement, Logo Local Government Council Chairman, Isaac Terseer Agber, through his Media Assistant, Mr Amengai Christian Terungwa, the Executive Chairman for Logo Local condemned the attack, describing the act as callous and reprehensible.

The statement quoted the chairman as ordering security agents to fish out perpetrators of the evil act and improve surveillance to forestall future attacks on communities in Logo LGA.

It says his administration will give security operatives maximum support to ensure that the attackers of Tse-Agbungu are arrested and made to face consequences of their action.

Recall that last month, unknown gunmen assassinated elder brother to Sen. Gabriel Suswam, Chief Dr Terkura Suswam at Anyiin, Gaambe-Tiev in Logo using a Toyota Corolla car, popularly called “Duck Nyash”; a development that led to its ban and the extension of curfew from 6p.m to 6a.m in the entire Sankera geopolitical axis.
