By Faith Igbudu
The Head of Service, Benue state, Agbogbo Ode, has expressed dismay at the lackadaisical attitude of some Benue workers towards work.
He made the remark on Friday when he did an assessment tour of some ministries in the state.
Ode said the present administration aims at scoring high in its first 100 days in office especially in terms of the welfare of staff however he said civil servants must justify their high expectations from the Alia led administration by the way the take serious their jobs.
He stressed on responsiveness and punctuality saying the administration wants to revive the service but a change of attitude from the workers will go a long way to bring sanity to the system.
He said as the Head of Service, he was going to review casual leave which is suppose to be seven working days only for a year noting that alot of civil servants are using the leave to bastardize the system.
He particularly directed management of every government agency to task their staff to sit up as regards punctuality, neatness of the environment and transparency in the discharge of their duties.
Some ministries visited were, Ministry of Justice, Works & Transport, Housing & Rural Development, Agriculture, Water Resources & Environment and Lands and Survey.
