The Benue State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Prof. Moses Ogbaji has assured that the Administration of Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia would reposition the agricultural sector for optimal results.
Prof. Ogbaji gave the assurance during a courtesy visit on him by USAID Feed Future: Nigeria Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services in his office in Makurdi.
He said the Ministry would set up a community practice that would be of benefit to both government and private sectors, saying that the state ministry would take ownership of productive programmes.
Earlier, the Benue State Coordinator, USAID Feed- The-Future, Mr Joseph Unogwu, said they were in his office to keep him abreast of USAID programmes in the state.
He stated few of USAID Feed the Future achievements to include: improving the lives of 300 persons in Agriculture, training of 41 Students to university level and equipping 726 farmers with tools on improved farming activities.
The Coordinator said, as one who was part of USAID, they were confident that the commissioner would perform well.
In his remark, Director Administration and Supply, Mr. Nats Adzuu assured them of the Ministry’s support to enable them succeed in their programmes.
