Insecurity: Nasarawa Law Maker Appeals for Release of Kidnapped ECDA Chairman

A Member of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Danladi Jatau has called on security agencies to ensure the release of the Acting Chairman of Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) in Agwada Development Area, Mr Allanana Anzaku who was abducted by unknown gunmen.
The acting ECDA Chairman, Mr Anzaku was kidnapped at his residence last night in Aforami, Bassa district , Kokona Local Government Area of the State.
Hon Jatau who represents Kokona West constituency at the state house of Assembly made the call when he received an award as Icon of Humanitarian Services from the Students Union Government (SUG), Nasarawa State University, Keffi on Monday in Lafia.
The law maker who is also the Minority Leader of the house decried increase in rate of insecurity in his constituency, particularly Bassa district of the area, calling on security agencies to beef up security in area to address the security challenges in the area.
“Mr Allanana Anzaku of Aforami in Bassa district of my constituency, who is the acting ECDA chairman has been kidnapped last night”
“And up till now he is no where to be found. I am appealing for his safe release and I want to appeal to the security agencies to enhance patrol in my area in order to protect lives and properties of my people” he said.
He, commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his efforts geared toward addressing security challenges in the state and called for its sustenance.
While appreciating the students for the award, the law maker assured them of his continued support in initiating students and youths friendly policies that would improve their standard of living.
He urged the leadership of the union to support the management of the university to enable them succeed in the discharge of their duties..
Earlier, the SUG President, Comrade Victor Affiku while presenting the award to the lawmaker said that it was based on his support to students of his constituency and the state at large.
“We are here to identify with you and to present you with an award as Icon of Humanitarian Services in recognition of your grassroot Development and Human Services and for also supporting the students of your constituency positively”, he said.
