Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has received commendation from the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for executing legacy projects that directly impact the lives of the people of the state.
The National Chairman of IPAC, Alhaji Yabagi Sani gave the commendation on Tuesday after concluding a two-day inspection of some of the projects carried out by Governor Sule across the state .
Sani who doubles as the National Chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and presidential candidate of the party during the 2023 general elections, stated that the IPAC had chosen to tour the nation to assess projects carried out by various governors in order to accountability accountability in governance.
According to him, the organisation had made on-the-spot assessments in Kano, Imo, and now Nasarawa State to make sure that elected officials truly followed through on their campaign pledges.
He further stated that the inspection was carried out in accordance with IPAC’s duty to strengthen democracy, while expressing satisfaction with the governor’s performance so far.
“We are also aware that he has employed workers, implemented promotions of civil servants and paying salaries promptly,” he said.
The Chairman however said that the team would not be able to visit all the project sites in the state due to time constraint.
He, therefore commended Gov. Sule for executing wide-range projects in education, employment generation, tackling insecurity, reducing poverty and boosting the economy of the state.
The Voice reports that some of the projects inspected included; Sani Abacha Bus Terminal Karu, Luvu Road in Mararaba, Permanent site of College of Health, Science Technology Keffi, the dual-carriage roads from Total Filling Station to Federal Medical Centre (FMC) roundabout and from FMC roundabout to Nasarawa road.
Other projects inspected were, Keffi Neighborhood market, Keffi Square and Museum, Antou bridge and Arusu Road in Kokona LGA.
In Akwanga LGA, the team visited Moroa Road, the newly established Faculty of Engineering, Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) at Gudi, a remodeled VIP Lodge and Events Centre, neighborhood market as well as a neighborhood market at Nassarawa-Eggon LGA respectively.
Meanwhile in Lafia LGA, the team inspected the dual-carriage Shendam Road, Bus Terminal at Bukan-Sidi, dual-carriage Shinge road, Aliyu Doma Banquet Hall, New Presidential Lodge, ongoing construction of State Secretariat complex.
Others were; Lafia Cargo Airport, Vocational and Training Institute Lafia, Abuja and Al-Makura streets, among others.
