Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, has promised to partner religious institutions with a view to promoting peace and unity in the state.

The governor was speaking while delivering his goodwill message at the Taraba State trade fair complex in Jalingo recently, during the first quarterly combined service of the Tekan, Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA block.

The governor who expressed appreciation to the people for the peace and tranquility he enjoyed throughout his tenure, also promised to do more for the people of Taraba.

Earlier, the chairman, Tekan, ECWA Church bloc, Taraba Chapter, Reverend Micah Doppah, had called on the federal government to redouble efforts in combating insurgency, banditry, kidnappings as well as incessant killings across the country.

He urged believers to encourage peace and unity above selfish interests, while charging them to continue to offer prayers to God in order that the administration of governor Ishaku would achieve more for the benefit of the state.

Reverend Doppah said that their prayers have yielded much more for the state going by the achievement recorded which ranges from infrastructural development to Agriculture, education, youth empowerment etc, and most of all relative peace among ethnic groups in the state.
