Taraba State Governor, Dr. Kefas Agbu said his first 100 days in office were focused on laying a solid foundation for development in the state.
Governor Agbu who listed 37 achievements which cut across Education, Agriculture and Health among others within his first 100 days in office said his administration will dwell more on infrastructural development among other critical sectors.
Governor Agbu made this known when he played host to stakeholders in the state and journalists at Taraba Government House Chambers, Jalingo, the state capital to brief them on the first one hundred days of his administration.
The governor said his administration was committed to making a difference and setting standards for Tarabans, even unborn generations.
On Education, Governor Agbu reassured Tarabans that from 14th September 2023, all items promised to be used in both primary and post primary schools will be delivered while on Agriculture, he assured that his government has put in place policies to support farmers towards boosting food security in the state and beyond.
Dr Agbu said, “despite the huge financial challenges, we will keep faith with the electorate who voted us into power in order to restore confidence in governance.
“I have Taraba at heart and I will do everything humanly possible to impact positively on citizens by upgrading the standard of living for all Tarabans.Taraba is our home and we must join hands to build it to become the envy of other states in the region and country at large,” he stated.
In his remarks, Chairman, Taraba State Correspondents Chapel, Comrade Gabriel Yough, thanked the governor for involving the media and Taraba State’s critical stakeholders in evaluating his performance in the first 100 days in office and promised continuous coverage of his activities.
In their desperate remarks, Mr. Justin Tyopuusu of The Punch Newspaper and Alhaji Adamu Sadiq of News Agency of Nigeria, commended Governor Agbu on his efforts to get rid of poverty in Taraba through the laying of a solid foundation in Education and Agriculture.
They further called on the governor to mobilize his media managers in order to carry journalists along in the project of building Taraba .
In her remarks, the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hajia Zainab Usman Jalingo has acknowledged Governor Agbu’s commitment to the development of Taraba State.
Hajiya Jalingo noted the importance of the media in society and assured of government’s willingness to partner with them to make Taraba State better.
