National Identify Number (NIN) has been considered as a necessary prerequisite for registration of applicants intending to sit for the 2021 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
JAMB made this known as they released the timetable for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry examination.
The announcement was contained in a statement by its, Head, Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin recently.
According to the board, the UTME would hold from Saturday, 5 to Saturday, 19 June, 2021.
The board said in view of the date, registration for the examinations will start on Thursday, 8 April to Saturday, 15 May 2021 and warned that there will be no extension of time for the sale of the UTME/DE application documents.
According to the statement, the governing council of JAMB took the decision after its meeting on the 22 of March, 2021.
The statement said applicants will have to provide their National Identity Number (NIN) before they can register for the examinations saying that the use of NIN was mandatory for participation in the 2021 registration exercise
It also said registration will take place in 700 Computer – Based Test Centres nationwide.
