Ministry of Education in Kaduna State has closed all schools in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna state due to unabated kidnap of students and pupils in elementary and secondary schools in the area.

Zonal Director, Quality Assurance, Ministry of Education, Kaduna state, Abigal D Adeze, who gave the directive on Tuesday in a press release, obtained by The Voice newspaper, urged all school authorities, both public and the private sector to comply with the directives immediately and vacate schools.

It will be recalled that yet to be identified gunmen have wrecked havoc in most schools in the state, kidnapping both students, pupils and teachers.

Apart from the recent kidnapping trend, Kajuru LGA has been in the news over insecurity reasons over the past two years. Many innocent persons have lost their lives in the said local government area due to banditry activities among others.

Kaduna state government had in 2020 imposed a 24 hour curfew in Kajuru LGA thrice, following persistent killing of people, including passersby.
