Kontagora Emirate Development Initiative says it is set to raise five billion naira and more geared towards economic, educational, social, cultural, infrastructural, unity and political development of the Emirate.
This was made known on Monday by the chairman of the Board of trustees Kontagora Emirate Development initiative (KEDI), Ambassador Ahmed Musa Ibeto during the inauguration ceremony of KEDI fund raising committee held at Dogokoli Hotel, Minna.
Ambassador Ibeto explained that the committee which comprises prominent technocrats, politicians, academicians and businessmen is focused on raising capital, ensuring that the funds raised are utilised appropriately, as well as gathering voluntary contributions of money or other resources from individuals and organizations.
Chairman fund raising committee, Aliyu Ahmed assured KEDI that all hands will be on deck to ensure the needful is done, adding that raising five billion naira is achievable.
Representative of the Emir of Kontagora, Galadima Kontagora Shehu Galadima called on KEDI to ensure they bring development to the Emirate at all cost, adding that he will assist the committee with contacts in achieving its aims and objectives.
Earlier, the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Niger State Chapter, Abdulkareem Lafeeni and the Special Adviser to Governor Umar Mohammed Bago on Social Investment Programme, Hauwa Muhammad Bako both said the initiative was timely and needed to have adequate data collection to be able to achieve the desired goals.
The fund rising committee of KEDI is to be chaired by Aliyu Ahmed, while Dr Nuhu Garba Ngaski is the secretary.
Other committee members include: Education, Human Capital Development, Project Monitoring, Political, Security, Finance, Economic and wealth creation.
