A House of Representatives Member representing Shendam, Mikang/Quanpan Federal Constituency, Komsol Alphonsus Longgap has said he will continue to empower his constituents to over come abject poverty and become self reliant.
The lawmaker made his position known Saturday at Shendam, Plateau State during his second constituency briefing and town hall meeting as the federal representative of the people.
Longgap, an All Progressive Congress (APC) lawmaker said his legislation at the National Assembly has brought democratic dividends to his constituents with over 50 local business women financially empowered to carry out their peasant businesses.
He told a large gathering at Shendam Youth Centre during the town hall meeting that he has constructed, equipped and commissioned two ICT centres to aid ICT learning skills of students within the constituency.
Still in the area of improving education of his people, Komsol also noted his construction and rehabilitation of a 3 class room block each across the constituency.
He said he has facilitated registration of the 3000 senior secondary school leavers who wrote the 2021 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination, which most of the candidates are hopeful of gaining admission to further their education soonest.
Speaking on hardship been faced due to water scarcity in the region, he said he has been able to drill 50 hand pump motorized boreholes at different locations within the three local government areas that make up the constituency.
On improving and encouraging all year round farming among his constituents, he said he procured six trailer load of 6000 bags of fertilizer to farmers set for distribution.
Longgap also paid homage to the Paramount Ruler of Goemai, the Long Goemai of Shendam, Miskoom Matins Sheldas the lll and sought his royal blessings.
