The Chairman of Ukum Local Government Council, Stevie Ayua has debunked the rumour making the rounds on the social media that unknown gunmen Wednesday morning, attacked and killed 10 marketers along Ayati-Sai road in the local government.
In a chat with The Voice, the Ukum council boss said, nothing like that happened.
He however, said there was a situation in the area which had nothing to do with the killing of 10 traders. “There is a situation there but not this,” he stated.
As at the time of filing this report, the chairman was yet to respond to the text message which sought to ascertain the situation that happened there.
When contacted the Chairman of Katsina-Ala Local Government Council, Atera A. Alfred who shares boundary with his Ukum counterpart said, he had heard something like that but it is not within his jurisdiction to comment on it.
“I heard same but it’s within Ukum jurisdiction so the chairman of Ukum would answer better,” he said.
There was a rumour on social media that unknown gunmen had attacked and killed 10 business persons, setting 3 trucks ablaze and kidnapping several others.
