Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Titus Uba has described workers as the wheels of progress of state economy.
Uba, in a statement made available to newsmen Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Wuese Orshi, saluted the workers’ tremendous contributions to the growth of economy of the state.
“Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titus Uba felicitates with Benue workers as they join their counterparts the world over to mark this year’s Workers’ Day,” the statement read.
According to the statement, the speaker commended workers in the state for their doggedness and dedication to duty.
He stated: “Their inputs have been very instrumental to the achievements recorder so far.”
Uba assured them of all necessary support from the legislature to make the working environment most conducive.
He however, lamented the deteriorating security situation in the country and the growing tension across regional lines and urged Benue people to support the government to continue to resist incessant constitutional violations and interference by enemies of the state.
The statement further said the speaker promised to continue to partner with the organized labour in addressing issues that affect workers.
“The PDP Tiv consensus gubernatorial aspirant wishes Benue, and indeed, Nigerian workers a happy celebration,” the statement maintained.
