The Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN),
Nasarawa State chapter recently organised a “Unity Show” at Sandaji Hotel, Lafia to showcase talents and promote unity among artistes in the state.
The Chairman of MOPPAN in the state, Mr Abdullahi Amwe, who disclosed this in an interview with The Voice on Wednesday in Lafia, said the state is blessed with talented artistes cut across its 13 local government areas.
Amwe said the association has already unveiled various guilds under its umbrella in the state and assured of robust enabling environment for artistes’ development.
He mentioned some of the guilds recently unveiled by MOPPAN in the state to include Guild of Nigeria Film Designers, Artistes, Editors, Producers, Directors, Camera/Lights, Musical, Costume, Make-up, Script Writers, Dancers, Photographer, Cinematographers, among others.
He, explained that MOPPAN was an umbrella body that regulates and provide guidance and capacity building for the development of entertainment industry, as well as creating enabling environment for artistes to thrive in their various endeavours.
The chairman commended the state government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Sule for supporting entertainment industry in the state.
“The government of the day is trying in the area of support, it has taken entertainment industry to the next level, plans are also underway by government to build film village at Farin Ruwa water falls, when this happens we are going to be a beneficiaries.
“We, therefore, appreciate Governor Abdullahi Sule for supporting our artistes in various ways,” he said.
He, therefore, encouraged all the artistes in the state to register with MOPPAN so that it could promote, showcase their talents and protect their interest respectively.
