The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Sen. Abba Moro, has assured the new Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr Oliver Aba of maximum cooperation to succeed in his apostolic work.
The senator made the pledge on Saturday at the grand reception organized in honour of the Prelate at Olachagbaha-Otukpa, in Ogbadibo Local Government of Benue State.
His words: “My brother, friend and spiritual leader, I congratulate and celebrate you.
“On behalf of myself, family and the good people of Benue South, I pledge our unalloyed support for you.
“We will do everything we can to ensure that by the time you leave that office, the whole of the Methodist and Christian community would know that a man has passed through.
“We cannot afford not to support you to succeed.
Sen. Moro, who was a Guest of Honour on the occasion said he felt fulfilled and highly elated that his senatorial district produced the first Methodist Prelate from the entire Northern Nigeria in 180 years at a time he’s representing the zone in the Senate.
He maintained that the selection of Dr Aba from Benue South was an act of God for which the people must remain thankful to Him forever.
The senator urged the entire Benue South community to give the prelate maximum support so that he can make a difference in the lives of the people.
Speaking, the Prelate, Dr Aba appreciated his native community-Otukpa for hosting him.
He thanked God for elevating him to the position of leading Methodist Church Nigeria, pledging not to disappoint.
He, however, appealed to the people for continued prayers for him to succeed, stressing that his elevation is for everyone of them and he cannot succeed without them.
