The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Sen. Abba Moro, has expressed shock over the death of a constituent, Brig. Gen. James Ogbole.

Gen. Ogbole, a top-ranking officer, was crushed to death with a car, on Tuesday by an allegedly drunk junior officer, Corporal Abayomi Ebun, while doing his routine jogging within the premises of Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in Oshodi, Lagos State.

Sen. Moro, who lamented the general’s painful death described it “as traumatizing.”

He called on the President and Commander-In-Chief of the armed forces, Muhammadu Buhari, and the Nigeria Army to carry out a thorough investigation of the incident to ascertain if it was truly an accident or a deliberate act.

A statement by Moro’s Special Assistant, Emmanuel Eche-Ofun on New Media and made available to The Voice on Friday quotes his principal as praying God to rest the soul of the general and give the family and the entire Benue South the heart to bear this irreplaceable loss.

The Voice gathered that until his demise, Brig. Gen. Ogbole was the Director of Finance of the Nigeria Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos.
