The Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Lafia, has postponed its Friday session to Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
The Voice reports that on Thursday, July 27th, the Chairman of the three-person Governorship Election Petitions Panel, Ezekiel Ajayi, adjourned the tribunal sitting to Friday, July 28 for continuation of the hearing.
However, in the tribunal on Friday, the petitioners’ attorney pleaded with the court to allow an adjournment to enable the Independent National Electoral Commission provide some important documents in response to the subpoena order issued on the commission.
The respondents’ attorney raised no objections on the appeal, so the court granted the decision to adjourn the hearing until Wednesday, August 3rd, 2023.
It would be recalled that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dr. David Ombugadu, had dragged the incumbent Governor, Abdullahi Sule to court after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared him winner of the 2023 governorship election.
