The Nasarawa State Normalisation Committee has inaugurated local council football association chairmen and their board members across the 13 local government areas of the state with a call on them to discharge their responsibility effectively.

The Committee also constituted the Electoral and Appeal Committees for the forthcoming state FA election holding on Saturday, 4th November, 2023.

Performing the inauguration on Wednesday, the Chairman , Normalisation Committee in the state, Alhaji Aliyu Bello, charged the newly elected local council football Association chairmen to be dedicated to their duties in order to move the game of football to a greater height.

Bello who congratulated them for emerging victorious at the election , urged them to carry everyone alone to enable them succeed.

“I call on you to perform your duties diligently and bring everyone on board so that together we can develop the game of football. This will encourage our darling football teams, Nasarawa United and Nasarawa Amazons to do well and we can get the needed results,” he said.

He appealed to delegates at the forthcoming state FA election to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and elect those who will pilot the affairs of the association at the state level for the progress of the round leather game in the state.

Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Jafaru Ango, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barr. Isaac Danlandi reiterated the commitment of the state government to prioritise sporting activities to develop the talents of youths in the state.

Ango said the state would continue to partner the football association as well as carry out oversight functions in all football activities for the growth and development of the state.

The commissioner congratulated the newly elected local government councils chairmen of the association urging them to use their position to empower those behind them.

He called on them to abide by the oath of office and carry everyone along in the course of discharging their duties.

On his part, Chairman, Nasarawa United FC, Dr Othman Ahmed lbrahim charged the newly elected Executive Members against violence, calling on them to be peaceful and unite with members of the association both at the state and local government levels.

He also sought for collaboration between stakeholders to ensure the growth and development of football in the state.

The newly Chairman of the Association in Keffi LGA, Mr Mahmud Sidi Lawal who spoke on behalf of others, appreciated the Chairman of the Normalisation Committee, Alhaji Bello and his members for restoring peace within the football family in the state.

Mr Lawal also thanked the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development as well as the members of the Committee for giving them the opportunity to serve at the local government level .

He, therefore promised that they would discharged their duties diligently for the overall benefit of the state.

The Voice reports that, the Nigeria Football Federation in June this year set up the Normalisation Committee in the state with the primary objective of restoring stability, promote transparancy and ensure the smooth running of football affairs within the Nasarawa State Football Association and resolving internal issues.
