The Nasarawa State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has suspended the Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice, Abdullahi Ahmed-Sani, and Deputy Chief Registrar Personnel of the Court, Edward Ali-Liman, over alleged misconduct.
In a statement issued and signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Isa Ebini-Kana and made available to journalists in Lafia recently said said the Chief Registrar, Customary Court of Appeal, Esther Mami Ejeh Esq would now cover the duties of the Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice.
The statement further said that the Deputy Chief Registrar, Magistrates Affairs, High Court of Justice, Hadiza Abubakar, Esq shall cover the duties of Deputy Chief Registrar Personnel, High Court of Justice.
“Following an emergency meeting of the Nasarawa State Judicial Service Commission held on 1 July 2021, the Commission deliberated upon a complaint written against the Chief Registrar High Court of Justice, Abdullahi Ahmed Sani Esq, and its Deputy Chief Registrar Personnel, High Court of Justice, Edward Ali Liman, Esq.
“Consequently, the Commission resolved and made recommendations for the immediate suspension of both Abdullahi Ahmed Sani, Esq and Edward Ali Liman, Esq to pave way for investigation.
“Therefore, Esther Mami Ejeh, Esq, The Chief Registrar, Customary Court of Appeal is to cover the duties of the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice while, Hadiza Abubakar, Esq, Deputy Chief Registrar, Magistrates Affairs, High Court of Justice is to cover the duties of the office of Deputy Chief Registrar Personnel, High Court of Justice,” the statement said.
It therefore, called on staff of the state judiciary and the general public not to do any business with the suspended officers until the outcome of the investigation exonerate them.
