The Nasarawa Geographic Information Service (NAGIS) says it has generated over N536 millon between January and June, 2022 out of its N600m estimated revenue for a year.
The Director General of NAGIS, Mr Sonny Agassi, revealed this on Friday when the management of the agency appeared before the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Lands and Urban Development on its 2022 budget performance.
According to him, the mandate of the agency was to process grants of statutory Rights of Occupancy (R-of-O), issuing Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O) among others in the state.
“Our expected revenue for 2022 stands at over N600 million but I want to tell you that from January to June, 2022, we have generated over 536 million.
“I want to appreciate the committee for continuously supporting our activities to succeed. We want to thank you and His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule for your supports.
“I want to assure you that we will continue to be up and doing in generating more revenue to the coffers of the state government,” he stated.
In his remark, Chairman, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Lands and Urban Development, David Maiyaki commended NAGIS for generating such amount of revenue within a period of six months.
Maiyaki said that the committee was happy with the good revenue performance of NAGIS and urged them to do more.
He noted that the state government cannot execute more developmental projects without funds, hence the need for NAGIS to explore more ways of generating funds.
“We are happy with your performance in terms of revenue generation and we urge you to do more.
“We also want to assure you of our continued determination to support and synergize with you, in order to take the agency and the ministry to the next level of development,” he said.
