The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has commenced grassroots mobilisation campaign for the victory of candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Speaking recently in Umaisha, the Speaker whose campaign tagged, “Ward to ward campaign” which started with Shege ward cut across all the six electoral wards of Umaisha, Ugya, Katapha, Dansu and Kenyehu.
Abdullahi said the aim was to mobilise support for APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, Governor Abdullahi Sule, himself and other APC candidates to enable them emerge winners at the election.
He said that the second round of the exercise which would be tagged, “meet the people of Umaisha/Ugya”, will make him and his campaign team meets the people door-to-door to mobilise and galvanise support for APC victory in his constituency. He said it will commence at end of the ward to ward campaign.
The Speaker who solicited support from the people of Shege ward who came out enmasse to receive him, appreciated them for the support given him in the last eight years.
He declared interest to re-contest for the state assembly seat and re-assured them of more dividends of democracy if re-elected.
In another development, the deputy Chief Whip of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammed Ibrahim Alkali (APC Lafia North) has re-affirmed his peoples’ commitment to deliver APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu , Governor Abdullahi Sule and all APC candidates, come 2023.
Alkali who is the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs gave the assurance on Tuesday during an engagement with some political groups and stakeholders of his constituency.
He said that delivering APC candidates at all levels remains the task his people must strive to achieve in the forthcoming general elections.
The lawmaker charged his people to remain committed to constituted authorities for peace, progress and development of their communities, state and the country at large noting that vote for APC was a vote for overall growth and development of the society.
In their separate remarks, the APC Chairman, Assakio electoral ward, Mr Aminu Dauda and the APC Chairman of Shabu/kwandare electoral ward, Hon. Aminu Musa both pledged their commitment to vote all candidates to enable them win, come 2023.
