Nasarawa United FC mourns former supporters’ club chairman

The Nasarawa United Football Club, has expressed shock over the sudden death of its former Supporters’ Club Chairman, Jamilu Mohammed Yakubu.

The Voice earlier reported that  Yakubu, who was a Personal Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State on Power, died in a car crash along Akwanga-Lafia Road on Tuesday.

A statement issued on Thursday by Nasarawa United FC Chairman, Barr Isaac Danladi on behalf of the entire management, players and staff of the club described the incident as shocking, saying it was a great loss to the people of the state.

Danladi said: “I join other heartbroken sons and daughters of Nasarawa State to mourn his devastating exit and pay tribute to his numerous contributions to the club and state in general.

“The late Jamilu will be remembered and acknowledged for his commitment, dedication, pious spirit, humility and purposeful lifestyle.

“Jamilu Mohammed gave his all for the prosperity and success of Nasarawa United FC when he was Chairman of the Supporters’ Club, over a decade ago.

“We share our thoughts and prayers with Governor Abdullahi Sule whom the late Jamilu Mohammed was Personal Assistant to (on Power), the government of Nasarawa State, the good people of Nasarawa State, and the deceased family during this difficult period.

“We hope God gives you the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, and grant the deceased Aljanna Firdausi.”
