The Benue State Police Command has concluded plans to commence the second phase of the nationwide registration and capturing of all retired police officers in the state on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
According to a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Benue State Police Command, DSP Catherine Anene, the exercise is scheduled to commence on Monday 22 March, 2021 to Thursday 25 March, 2021.
The statement said the exercise which is in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police is aimed at ensuring that both the retirees and their spouses are not left out from having access to all NHIS services covered by the Police Health Maintainance Organisation (Police HMO).
It further said, the second batch is to enable those who missed out during the first batch, the opportunity to be captured. The release further urged the retired police officers to visit any Area Command nearest to them in their respective states of residence and carry along their letter of retirement and identity card, irrespective of rank on retirement.
The release further stated that the registration and services provided under the scheme is absolutely free and without any form of deduction from their monthly pension and urged the affected officers to take optimum advantage of this opportunity.
