Niger APC guber aspirant promises empowerment, agric, security, others

A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mallam Idris Usman Makanta has promised to prioritize women and youth empowerment, education, agriculture, health and security if given the mandate as the Governor of Niger state.

He disclosed this when declaring his intention to run for the seat of Governor at Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Hall, Minna Tuesday.

The gubernatorial aspirant, who reiterated his determination to decentralise governance described  idleness as one of the reason of insecurity and many vices ravaging the country, especially the North.

He noted that his focus on women and youth will bring back the glorious era to the state aid economic development and help them to be self reliant.

Makanta promised to revive agriculture and human capital development by ensuring that the sector is transformed so that farmers can produce more with less effort.

The aspirant, who described education as a vital tool for economic development said he will create employment opportunities through various empowerment programmes.

He also assured the state to tackle the area of high child mortality and death of women delivery/child birth among others.
