The Niger State House of Assembly has constituted 26 standing committees and chairmen to carryout legislative functions.
Speaker of the assembly, Barr. Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin Daji made the announcement on Wednesday during plenary at the Assembly Complex in Minna
According to the speaker, member representing Edati Constituency, Ahmed Muhammed heads Information and Communication Committee; Muhammed Sani Idris representing Tafa, chairs Education, Science and Technology; Afiniki Dauda representing Gurara Constituency, Women Affairs while member representing Agaie Constituency, Alhaji Isah Muhammed Etsu Gaie Public Petition Ethics.
Other committees and their chairmen include: member representing Magama Constituency; Mohammed Gado Nasko Abdulaziz, Youths and Sports, member representing Mashegu Alhassan Isah Agriculture and member representing Munya Constituency, Joseph Haruna Duza Security and Intelligence.
The rest are Pharmacist Umar Nasir representing Paikoro, Health and Nutrition; Arch. Suleiman Abubakar Gomna representing Bosso, Works and Infrastructural Development, Yakubu Abdulmalik Bala, representing Katcha Water Resources; Sheshi Aliyu representing Wushishi Finance, and Yusuf Baba Daban representing Lavun Transport.
The Speaker of the House, who read the list of committees with their chairmen and deputies, urged them to work effectively for the good of the people.
