The Niger State House of Assembly has frown at the poor state of General Hospital, Wuse and other health service facilities in the state.
The House thereby urged the state Ministry of Health and Hospital Management Services, to declare a state of emergency on the General Hospital, Wuse and other hospitals with similar conditions of services.
The resolution was reached on Tuesday after the questions and answer session by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Mohammed Makunsidi, at the plenary chamber, to explain why General Hospital, Sabon Wuse, and all other general hospitals and health centre across the state were in such a dilapidated situation.
The commissioner explained that inadequate funds, manpower, and lack of provision of modern equipment were some of the challenges faced by the ministry, even as he disclosed some measures the ministry had put in place to cushion the effects of dilapidation.
