Niger Assembly to partner NGO on girl child education

The Niger State House of Assembly to partner Non-Governmental Organizations, NGOs, on girl child education..

Deputy Speaker of the State Assembl,  Hon. Afiniki Eunice Dauda, stated this when she received on a courtesy visit the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Maya Care Foundation in her office on Wednesday at the Assembly Complex in Minna.

Hon. Afiniki in a statement signed by Head of Media and public Relations, Niger State House of Assembly, Farouq Umar Isah assured the CEO of Maya Care Foundation and her team of the 10th Assembly’s legislative support and collaboration with the foundation in the areas of improving girl child education and out of school Children in the state.

Earlier, the CEO and Founder of Maya Care Foundation, Hajiya, Safiya Abdulmumuni, congratulated the Deputy Speaker and members of 10th Assembly for their successful inauguration and informed them that Maya Care Foundation is a non-governmental organization that is concerned about children and out of school children especially, girls.

The founder further explained that their major focus is to pick them up from the streets and send them back to school by giving them quality education, conducive environment and learning materials.

She added that the foundation has visited some states in Nigeria, and also carried out women empowerment programmes as well as supported a school in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State.

The CEO maintained that the foundation holds an annual programme every September when schools resume and this particular year, they would be holding it in the Niger state capital.
