The member representing Chanchaga Constituency in the Niger State House of Assembly and Chief Whip, Muhammed Abubakar has advised party officials in his constituency to properly utilize the money given to empower them.

Hon. Abubakar gave the advice on Monday while giving the sum of N300,000 (Hundred Thousand Naira) each to 27 executive members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Chanchaga Constituency in his office at the Assembly Complex, Minna.

The lawmaker said: “Last month I empowered 33 members of my campaign team who got me to this position with Five Hundred Thousand Naira (500,000) each.”

Hon. Muhammed explained that the aim of the empowerment was to change the narrative of party officials after election, but to enable them engage in businesses of their choice.

“I know a billionaire that started with just N90,000 (Ninety Thousand Naira), I am believing that what I gave today can start and change many lives, he said.

He further appealed to his other colleagues to emulate and do even more for their constituencies to cushion the hardships in the country.

Speaking, State APC Publicity Secretary, Musa Sarkin Kaji commended the effort of the lawmaker for his kind gesture, stressing that APC is about ensuring welfare of people at the grassroots and in line with the party’s manifestos.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Chanchaga, Yusuf Muhammed said that this is just the beginning of reaping dividends of democracy in the local government and the country at large and appealed that the beneficiaries should make judicious use of the money.

One of the beneficiaries Adullahi Sa’idu, who spoke on behalf of others appreciated the lawmaker for his kind gesture and sued for more collaborations, as well as prayed for more of such opportunities.
