The Niger State Police command has arrested five suspects for unlawful possession of human skull.
According to the Police public Relation Officer, PPRO, DSP Wasiu Abiodun “said Isah Mohammed 26 years and Idris Mohammed 28 years both from Sakpe village of Edati local government were arrested in possession of human skull wrapped in a bag along Bida -Minna road by a sister security agency while on a routine petrol.
He said during the interrogation by the Police Area Command Bida, the suspects claimed they got the human skull from their village and named three other persons who aided in digging the grave where the skull was exhumed.
The PPRO also revealed that the three suspects Ibrahim Jiya -18 years, Suleiman Usman – 22 yeras and Abdullahi Usman of the same address confessed that they got the skull was dug out from Sakpe village burial ground and it was that of Ndako Daniyan who died three years ago in the same village.
Meanwhile, Isah and Abdullahi also claimed to have met Alfa Sulieman from Kwara at Bida, who asked them to get a human skull for money ritual and requested them to take it to Minna area in kpakungu with the sum of N30,000.
The suspects have been transferred to SCID Minna for investigation and protection.
