NPA: UBEC lauds Benue SUBEB for cooperation

Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has been commended for the cooperation and support accorded the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to enhance effective execution of the National Personal Audit (NPA) in the state.

The commendation was given by the Director, Special Programmes, UBEC, Abuja, Dr Ene Adikwu, as she arrived Makurdi, the Benue State Capital, to monitor the ongoing National Personnel Audit exercise in the state.

According to information by the Information Officer of the board, Erdoo Sar, Dr Adikwu, who was received by top management staff of SUBEB expressed confidence in the board’s ability to do a perfect job with diligence.

Giving a brief on happenings so far, Team Lead, National Personnel Audit team, Mr Paul Agi, said that the audit is being carried out in line with the guidelines received from UBEC with no intention to compromise.

He noted that the personnel audit exercise was split into 53 teams, working across the state simultaneously. Agi stated that so far, 2899 primary schools and 898 secondary schools have been covered, bringing the total number of schools covered to 3797.

Agi lamented that ill health has been one of the challenges his staff have to deal with in addition to the need of more manpower in some areas, owing to the number of schools to be covered.

The team lead, however, expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman,SUBEB, Comrade Joseph Utse, for responding promptly to issues reported to him while on the field and pledged to put in their best towards actualizing the dream of lifting basic education in Benue State.

Reacting, Comr. Utse commended the team for the wonderful job done so far, charging them to conduct the exercise credibly so as to get perfect result that will be used to tackle the challenges of basic education in the state.

In a remark , Board Secretary, Mr Agbo Ochekpe urged the team to carry out a result oriented exercise that would report issues negating the success of basic education in Benue State, so as to rectify them.

Recall that UBEC has embarked on 2022 National Personnel Audit (NPA) of all public and private basic education institutions nationwide to generate data for effective educational planning.

The activity entails visiting basic education institutions to collect data on school enrollment, personnel, infrastructure, and other vital information.
