In a phone interview with The Voice, Information Officer of the board, Erdoo Sar, disclosed that all is going on well with the exercise that began in the state last Wednesday. She called on all stakeholders of basic education in the state to cooperate with the NPA team, in order to achieve a seamless process.

In a news bulletin about the NPA distributed by the board to the schools of interest it said: “NPA is an activity that entails that a selected team from UBEC visits basic education institutions to collect data on school enrollment, personnel, infrastructure.

“NPA is necessary, in order to obtain reliable data on basic education to assist government in educational planning.”

The Voice gathered that the exercise is for both public and private basic education institutions, registered or unregistered schools in the state.

The exercise which is free of any financial involvement requires information on enrollment, school personnel and their qualifications, facilities and infrastructure.

According to the bulletin, the UBE Act empowers UBEC to conduct the NPA at intervals of three years, of which the last exercise was conducted in 2018.
