The Federal Commissioner representing Benue State at the National Population Commission, NPC, Hon. Mrs Patricia Kupchi on Monday, led NPC delegation to Obagaji, Agatu local government headquarters to enlighten the people of the area on the importance of participation on the enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) exercise.
While speaking, the Hon commissioner emphasised on the importance of Birth and Death registrations, saying the traditional rulers and other stake holders in the local government should mobilize their people to turn out during the forth coming exercise.
In his welcoming speech, the Council Chairman Hon Adoyi Suleiman thanked the delegation for the visit, promising that his council would do everything humanly possible to ensure the success of the exercise.
Chief Jerry Ochola, the the district head of Enungba who stood for Ad’Agatu His royal Highness Chief Godwin Ngbede Onah, assured the commission of the Traditional Rulers’ support in the areas of logistics and awareness.
Hon John Anthony Ikwulono, the Deputy Chairman of the local council in his vote of thanks, appreciated the team for the good job done , adding that the council would provide enabling environment for the success of the exercise. He prayed for safe trip of the delegation back to office.
