The Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) has received additional eight executive bills from the Governor of the State, Engr Abdullahi Sule for consideration and passage.
Governor Sule had earlier presented seven executive bills to the House of Assembly seeking the establishment of the Nasarawa State Hospital Management Board Law, a bill for a law to repeal and re- establish the Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Board among others for consideration and passage in order to fast track development in the state.
The Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Tanko Tunga presented the 8 bills on behalf of Governor Sule on Wednesday during the House proceedings in Lafia.
Speaker of the House, Rt.Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi who received the bills said that the eight bills scaled first reading.
“I slate 9th November, 2020 for the second reading of a bill for the establishment of the Nasarawa State Infrastructure Maintenance and Haulage Fee and other matters connected thereto.
“Also I slated 10th Nov. 2020 for the second reading of a bill for a law to amend the Nasarawa State Law for the Establishment, Structure, Composition ,Finance and Functions of Local Government System in Nasarawa State 2018 and other matters connected thereto.
Rt. Hon Baralabe Abdulahi also announced that a bill for a law to establish the Nasarawa State Waste Management and Sanitation Authority (NASWAMSA) and for other connected matters will be read for the second time on 11th November, 2020.
“I slate 16th November, 2020 for the second reading of a bill for a law to establish the Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency and for other matters related thereto.
“I equally slate 17th November, 2020 for the second reading of a bill for a law to establish the Nasarawa State Motor Vehicle Administration and Traffic Management Agency and other matters related thereto.
The speaker announced 18th November, 2020 for the second reading of a bill for a law to regulate the operation of Commercial Motor Cylces and Tricycles and other related matters in Nasarawa State.
“Finally I slate 23rd Nov. 2020 for the second reading of a bill for a law to establish Nasarawa State Sports Development Fund and for other matters connected therewith.
Rt. Hon Balarabe Abdullahi further slated 24th November 2020 for the second reading of a bill for a law to provide for the Levying and Collection of Radio and Television License Rate in Nasarawa State, regulate the administration of the Radio and Television Licence Rates and for connected purposes
Earlier, the Leader of the House, Hon. Tunga (APC-Awe North), moved a motion for the first reading of the 8 executive bills and was seconded by the Minority Leader, Hon. Danladi Jatau (PDP- Kokona West).
The House then, unanimously allowed the eight executive bills scaled first reading.
