The Och’Otukpo Oduh, Dr John Eimonye, has condemned the recent surge in criminal activities within Otukpo metropolis of Benue State.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the Otukpo District Traditional Council; Chief Udeh Adole on Friday, the Och’Otukpo Odu said the miscreants disturbing the peace of Otukpo are nothing but criminals and will be treated as such.

He said calling them cultists is tantamount to giving them some form of relevance which is completely unnecessary.

The royal father therefore, issued a strong warning to all criminal elements in Otukpo to either vacate the town immediately or be ready to face the various security agencies who are fully prepared to deal with them.

On the recent stabbing to death of Eunice Odoba by unknown assailants, the royal father said no Otukpo blood will be shed in cold blood and the perpetrators of such evil go free.

He said as the custodian of the Otukpo culture, he has initiated the traditional process of finding the killers who will be exposed soon and be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Chief Eimonye commiserated with the Adole family and every other family that has been affected by the activities of criminals within the metropolis in the recent past.

While wishing all Christian faithful a happy Easter celebration, the Otukpo District Head said all security agencies are fully mobilised to ensure a hitch- free season.
