Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has urged Bongos Ikwe to take solace in God on the death of his wife, Josephine Ifeyinwa Bongos-Ikwe.
The governor stated this Thursday when he led other members of the state Executive Council to condole with Bongos at his residence in Otukpo.
Governor Ortom, who described Bongos as a father and a nationalist who has made Benue and Nigeria proud noted that It was such a difficult thing for one to loose a woman, who had supported him for 58 years.
“Today, she is gone. Like I have always said, it is God that gives and taketh life. When it happens we have nothing to do but to still glorify God,” he stated.
He prayed that God comfort Bongos, the entire family and urged them to be strong in the Lord.
Bongos, in a remark said he gives glory to God for giving him a wonderful wife in the person of Josephine and expressed appreciation to the governor for his humility and show of love.
Josephine Ifeyinwa Bongos- Ikwue who hailed from the Ijeh family in Issele–Uku Town of Delta State but married to the Benue music maestro passed away while receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment at an Abuja hospital early last month at the age of 73 will be buried on Friday, August 12 in Otukpo.
