Governor Samuel Ortom has rejected the social media story of his interest to contest the 2023 Presidential election in Nigeria.

For about two weeks now, the pictures of the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom is posted on social media by some of his supporters and interest groups, calling on the governor to join 2023 presidential race.

According to a press statement, made available to journalists by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Terver Akase, Ortom appreciated his supporters and interest groups who have taken to social media to call on him to join the 2023 presidential race.

In his words: “The governor, however, wishes to state that, his preoccupation at the moment is delivering good governance to Benue State.”

“Governor Ortom still has two and half years to complete his mandate as governor and is committed to greater services to the state,” the statement said.

Governor Ortom, particularly appreciated the people of the state for all the support accorded his administration to succeed.

It could be recalled that, on social media, various people, supporters and interest groups have also been calling on Governor Ortom to contest the Zone B Senatorial District seat in 2023. The call however, is yet to receive any response from the governor who is at the moment, focused on delivering democratic dividends to the state.
