Ortom embarks on inspection, commissioning of projects

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has commenced the inspection and commissioning of projects executed by his administration across the state in the last five years.
The inspection and commissioning of the projects, according to the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Honourable Ngunan Addingi, will be done on Senatorial Zones basis.
Briefing journalists Thursday after the Benue State Executive Council meeting, the commissioner said the commissioning of Governor Ortom’s administration projects will commence at the Zone A Senatorial District, with the commissioning of the 47 kilometre Zaki Biam- Gbeji-Afia, road and other projects.
She explained that, after the projects commissioning in Zone A, Zone B will take its turn with the commissioning of Ahmadu Bello Road in Gboko town which will be followed by other projects in the zone.
Hon (Mrs) Addingi further explained that, the governor will move to the Zone C after commissioning of various projects in Zone B and called on the people of the three zones to cooperate with State Government for the success of this very important assignment.
According to details of the road projects made available to The Voice, the completed projects in zone A is the 46 km while the Ge-Ikyobo-Agbeede-Amua-Anshagba road (37.08km) in Ushongo/Konshisha local government areas, Ikyor-Utange-Mbagwaza –Lessel road (55km) Ushongo and rehabilitation of 3 No. selected township roads in Katsina-Ala (6.7km) Katsina Ala local government area, are on-going.
Completed projects in Zone B are rehabilitation of 3 NO. l selected Township roads in Makurdi (19.2km), Box Culvert and Erosion Control at Danladi and rehabilitation of Ahmadu Bello Way, Gboko (1.25km). The Origbo – Imade Akpu – Gbajimba road (40.317) in Guma rehabilitation of 2 No. Selected Township roads in Gboko, (6.90km) and the Customary Court – George Akume way Phase II with spur to Akoso Bija, Chiamson – Peter Geri and Atoato Girgi road (5.01km).
In Zone C, the projects completed are rehabilitation of 3 NO.Selected township roads in Otukpo (1.72 km) and the Oshigbudu – Obagaji (10km) Agatu road.
Summary of the completed projects shows that Zone A has 46.52km, Zone 46.65km and Zone C 11.72 of roads.
Other projects on-going in these zones are Ge-Ikyobo – Agbeede – Amua-Anshagba (37.08km) in Ushongo and Konshisha, Ikyov-Utange-Mbagwaza – Lessel (55km in Ushongo and rehabilitation of 3 No. Selected township roads in Katsina – Ala (6.7km).
Taraku – Naka – Agagbe road (61km) in Gwer West, Wannune – Ikpa – Igbor road (36.732km) in Tarka – Gboko and Gwer East, Mobile Barrack Junction road Police Barrack Adeke – Welfare Quarters – Yaikyo – Apir road Junction (Makurdi Outer Road Ring Road) (24km), Tse –Poor Mbaikya – Apir (9.40) Gyado Junction – Gyado Hospital – Ministry of Agric and Isaac Shaahu, Gboko (5.00km) and Abuku-Ortse-Jingir-Tyogbenda Wombo – Ugah-Iortsor road (41.0km), are also on-going.
Ongoing project in Zone C are Construction of Otukpo Icho – Odudaje – Aondoana road (21km), Igumale-Agila (30 km) road in Ado and the Awajir – Oju road (56km) in Oju and Konshisha local government areas.
