Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has heaped encomiums on rave making Benue artist, Rapizo R.N.A Lubem Nyam Luke for his music, saying he has consistently demonstrated love for the State in his songs.
Represented by his Principal Special Assistant on Media, Mr Nathaniel Ikyur, the Governor, made this known at Rapizo’s 4th music album launch titled Unity which held at the Precious Event Centre, Makurdi.
Governor Ortom said Rapizo has been committed to promoting Benue’s tradition and culture as well as highlighting the challenges of its people through music.
“He has demonstrated his love and commitment by putting forward, the challenges of his people and also promoting its tradition and culture. He can be easily identified with his brand with a calabash, stripped in the Tiv colours of anger.
“With his music, he has lamented about the killings among his people in ‘Tar Taver’ and ‘Mough Nen Sha’ and he has wedged war, with his music against the invasion of the Tiv by the armed herdsmen across various communities in Benue State,” he stated.
Governor Ortom also applauded Benue youths for showing patriotism and respect to his administration as they conducted themselves responsibly while the EndSARS protest lasted, adding that the forthcoming Benue Youth Summit will lay structures to build the future of Benue youths in all spheres.
Also Speaking, Chairman of the Occasion, the Chief Press Secretary to Benue State Governor, Mr Terver Akase, represented by Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Research, Archives and Documentation, Iorliam Shija, said Nigeria must watch out for Rapizo.
He maintained that whatever Rapizo is doing today is only a representation of the talents in the state.
Also commenting, the Managing Director Greg and Co, Engr Vincent Aduku, represented by the company’s General Manager, Mr Michael Jinjingi, said the company has through a thorough process chosen Rapizo as its brand Ambassador.
