Ortom to present 2021 budget proposal, Thursday

The governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom is to present the 2021 budget estimate to the Benue State House of Assembly on Thursday, 5th November 2020.
The Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Ngunan Addingi stated this today while briefing journalists at the end of State Executive Council meeting presided by Governor Samuel Ortom.
She stated that EXCO also approved that Benue Television be connected to satellite to enable viewers watch the station on their television sets and no longer only on internet platforms, stressing that modalities were being worked out to that effect.
Similarly, the state executive Council also approved that starting from this week Friday, state work free day to allow them harvest their farm produce.
According to the Commissioner, the EXCO also approved Fridays as work free days for Benue workers with effect from 6th November 2020 to 29th January 2021.
On the proposed Benue Youth Summit, Mrs. Addingi hinted that Governor Samuel Ortom is to meet with local government chairmen to discuss modalities towards successful convocation of the summit.
The State Executive Council, according to the Information Commissioner, urged members of the public with cases of Police brutality to avai l their complaints to the panel of inquiry set up by the state for investigation and necessary action.
According to the Commissioner, the work free days would start from November 6th,2020 to January 29th, 2021 while the Civil Servants would resumed work on February 5th, 2021.
Mrs Addingi stated that other resolutions of the EXCO  include, the connection of Benue State Television which is at the moment online to the satellite, to improve its wide coverage as well as alleviate the usage of Network data by its audience.
