From Andrew Ajijah, Jos
An educationist, Dr. Ekaette Ettang has joined a coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), in advising the Federal Government of Nigeria and other heads of Africa-Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States not to endorse the European Union and Africa-Caribbean and Pacific countries (EU-ACP) proposal for legalization of gay and lesbianism in the country.
Addressing a group of students in Jos, last Wednesday, who were protesting against the treaty, Dr. Ettang revealed that if such agreement is signed, it will allow gay and lesbian in Nigeria without further hindrance.

Dr. Ekaette Ettang, who is an educationist and a concerned Mother, informed that, “Should Nigerian government give it consent, citizens shall be forced to practice Lesbianism, Gay marriage, Bi-sexual, Transgender and Bi-sexual (LGBT).” Dr. Ettang noted.
According the Dr. Ettang, lesbianism and gay are cultural practices that are against African norms and traditions.
The students in their separate interviews with journalists said the treaty, if endorsed, could ruin their future.
Other parents interviewed on the proposed legalization of Lesbianism, Gay marriage, Bisexual, Transgender and Bisexual (LGBT) in Nigeria also said the act is an abomination, and unacceptable to the two major religions in Nigeria.

It would be recalled that the administration of President Barack Obama, of the United States of America had attempted to lure Nigerian government into accepting gay marriage but the Nigerian government resisted.
Recently, it was gathered that President Joe Biden of the United States had claimed that LGBT rights were universal and international laws therefore, no government has the right to stop citizens from practicing lesbianism.
