The results collated both from Bassa and Jos North indicate that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Musa Agah scored a total votes of 40,343 from both local governments.
Announcing the results, the returning officer for the Jos North bye-election, Oyeyinka Oyenrinde, of the Department of Computer Science, University of Jos, said Musa Agah of the PDP scored 40,343 votes.
Dr Oyenrinde then declared Musa Agah of the PDP, winner of the bye-election.
Mr Agah’s closest rival is the candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) Mohammed Alkali, who got 37,757 votes from both local governments.
Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Joseph Abbey Aku scored 26111 votes.
Meanwhile, APC candidate won the state Constituency bye-election for Pankshin South with 6328, defeating the PDP candidate, who scored 6215 votes.
The Federal Electoral Commissioner for the bye-elections, Prof. Abdullahi Zuru in a remark, commended the electorate, candidates and political parties for a peaceful conduct.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Niger state, Sam Egu, and the REC for Plateau state, Mallam Halilu Pai assisted the national commissioner.
