The Police Command in Nasarawa State has arrested a suspect, Usman Danladi also known as Murderer, for allegedly chopping off the wrist of a 25-year-old man, Jirbrin Abdullahi in Karu Local Government Area of the State.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the State, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said Police operatives attached to Goshen City Division, led by CSP Eunice Ogbadu, upon receipt of information, swiftly raced to the scene and rushed the victim to Federal Medical Centre, Keffi for treatment.
Nansel, explained that the incident occurred on September 16, 2022 at about 04:00pm when the victim, Jibrin Abdullahi, an indigene of Kaduna State who resides in Tudun Wada Area, Auta Balefi in Karu LGA of the State was attacked and his wrist chopped off by the suspect over claims that he had earlier assaulted his girlfriend (Aisha).
“Consequently, intensive manhunt for the perpetrator of the dastardly act was instituted. The effort of the investigators paid off on 17/9/2022 when the prime suspect, one Usman Danladi ‘M’ 21-years-old A.K.A Murderer was arrested.
“Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime but claimed, the victim earlier assaulted his girlfriend (Aisha) and when he confronted him, a fight ensued; in the process, he attacked the victim with a machete,” he said.
The PPRO said that Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Adesina Soyemi has directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia for further investigation.
He said that at the conclusion of investigation, the suspect will be charged to court.
