Police assures of hitch-free Easter celebration in Nasarawa

The  Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Bola Longe has assured residents of the state of a hitch-free Easter celebration, calling on religious leaders, worshipers and residents to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies operating in the state.

In a statement issued recently by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Ramhan Nansel, the Commissioner of Police directed all Area Commanders, Heads of Departments and Divisional Police Officers to deploy adequate security personnel, in order to safeguard lives and property as well as provide security coverage to all worship and recreational centres during the period of the celebration.

The statement said  that high visibility policing would be maintained during, and after the celebration as Police patrol vehicles have been strategically deployed on  highways and undercover operatives and policemen are mobilised to cover every inch of the state to ensure safety of citizens.

“In case of any distress before, during and after the celebration, members of the public are advised to visit any of the Police Stations closer to them…,” the statement added.

The statement enjoined residents of the state to use the Easter period for sober reflection, offer prayers for the peace, progress and unity of the state and nation at large.

It therefore, urged residents to be  guided by law and judicial conviction as any one found wanting would be dealt with according to the law.
