The Police Command in Nasarawa State has begun investigation into the alleged murder of a student of Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK), Michael Elechi.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, ASP Ramhan Nansel, revealed this in an interview with The Voice on Wednesday in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital.
According to him, that incident was reported at Police Station at Angwan Lambo near the university on February 15, around 6:30pm by Joy Anga, a student of NSUK who lives in the same compound with the deceased.
“Anga said that she returned from lectures around 5:40pm and saw the gate of their building half opened, on entering she found the deceased in his pool of blood.
“Upon receipt of the report, the police personnel at Angwan Lambo were mobilised to the scene of the incident and the deceased was taken to Federal Medical Centre, Keffi where he was confirmed dead by the doctors.
“The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue pending the outcome of the investigation,” he said.
He said that the Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, CP Adesina Soyemi had ordered for autopsy to unravel the mystery behind the death of the student.
The Voice reports that the deceased until his death was a final year part-time student of Business Administration Department at NSUK.
