The Police Command in Nasarawa State has deployed 4,000 of its personnel across the state to ensure that the Eid-el-Kabir celebration is hitch-free.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Ramhan Nansel disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday and made available to newsmen in Lafia, the state capital.
ASP Nansel said the personnel are strategically deployed to cover major towns/villages, Eid praying grounds, junctions, recreational centres and other places, while rigorous patrol will be sustained on our highways for the safety of intending travellers.
“Meanwhile, undercover operatives have also been deployed to nooks and crannies of the state for intensive surveillance.
The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Bola Longe, while wishing the general public a blissful Eid-el-kabir celebration, enjoined the general public to live in peace with one another, irrespective of their ethnic or religious affiliation and report any likely breach of peace to the Police for prompt action.
He therefore, called on the people of the state to use the period to offer prayers for the peace and stability of the state and country at large.
