The remaining four school children of Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Alwaza, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have been rescued.
The pupils who have been in captivity in the hands of their abductors were rescued early hours of Friday and are currently receiving medical attention at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital( DASH) in Lafia.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the State, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Ramhan Nansel confirmed this in a statement issued on Friday and made available to journalists in Lafia.
“In continuation of the search to rescue the remaining four pupils that were earlier abducted on 20/1/2023 at LEA Primary school, Alwaza; on 3/2/2023 at about 0700hrs, detachment of joint security operatives in collaboration with Hunters rescued the four pupils at Doka village, Doma LGA.
“The victims, Awazi Emmanuel, Success Ogah, Dominion Alhaji and Success Emmanuel have been taken to the hospital for medical examination and shall be reunited with their parents,” he said.
Nansel said that the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Maiyaki Muhammad Baba has commended members of the public for their support given since the abduction of the school children.
He, therefore urged them to assist the police with relevant information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
