Police uncover suspected baby factory, rescue victims, arrest suspects in Nasarawa

Police operatives in Nasarawa State have uncovered a baby factory located at Ado Kasa in Karu Local Government Area of the state.

A statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the State, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said that six young girls and a six months old baby were rescued from the den.

Nansel further stated that four suspects; Eze Ezeogu Norbert ‘M’, Nnaemeka Eze ‘F’, Okechukwu Ogechi ‘F’ and Obiagheli Chidi ‘F’ were arrested.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the operator of the orphanage home abducted under aged pregnant girls, hold them hostage till they give birth and sell their children to the highest bidder.

“Further investigation also revealed that the orphanage home was not registered.

“Suspects and victims have been handed over to National Agency for the Prosecution of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further investigation and prosecution,” Nansel said.

He said that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Maiyaki Baba has warned all criminals and those who may be nursing ambitions that are inimical to the safety of the state to desist from such acts.

CP Baba assured that the Police will not relent in mobilising all resources at its disposal to confront and render operations of criminals in the state fruitless.

He further urged parents/guidance to take proper care of their children, even as he appealed to members of the public to continue to avail the Police with credible information that will lead to the arrest on criminals in the state.
