Projects execution: Wike, others hail Ortom

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has commended his Benue State counterpart, Samuel Ortom for providing dividends of democracy for the people of the state.

Governor Wike gave the commendation on Monday during the commissioning of a 14 Kilometres Tse-Poor Mbakyaa-Apir road. He stated that the road, other roads and other rural electrification projects executed by governor Ortom has made life easy for members of the community.

Wike, who expressed appreciation to the governor and people of the state for inviting them to be part of the occasion said: “t6he essence of governance is to make the people happy and to make economic access available. We are proud of you, Ortom for fulfilling your promise to the people of the state.”

He urged Governor Ortom to not give up but continue with the good governance for the people of the state.

On his part, Governor of Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu, who commissioned an electricity transformer at Tse-Poor community of Makurdi, described power as an enabler for development and said Governor Ortom had done well.

The Abia State Governor lauded the transformative initiative of governor Ortom. “The transformer would improve the economic and social activities of the people in this locality,” he stated.

Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State s respectively also commissioned a 2.0 kilometres NKST Yina-George Akume road and 1.30 kilometres Low Cost Housing Estate-Bambam roads.

Governor Ortom, who took his counterparts round the metropolis for the commissioning exercise, explained that the projects were executed despite scarce resources. “This is our pledge and commitment. With all the challenges and scarce resources, we have been able to make judicious use of the little resources available to us.

“These projects that are being commissioned today is proof to critics who thought this administration cannot achieve the feat. The state is not only focused on securing lives. We are also committed to infrastructural development,” Ortom maintained.

A total of five roads were commissioned. The roads are: Tse-Poor Mbakyaa-Apir road, Yaikyo-Tse-Poor road, NKST Yina- George Akume road

Others include: Kaanga-Akaya- Lucy Aluor-Otukpo road and Low Cost Housing Estate-Bambam road.
